Overview

Why we trade this range

Dakshina Kannada and the districts either side of it sit inside India’s densest coconut belt. We buy nuts and intermediate products from mills and smallholder clusters within a few hours’ drive of our Mangaluru base, which means we can inspect a lot before we commit to it rather than after. The coconut is unusual among tropical crops in that almost none of it is waste — kernel, water, shell and husk each carry their own export market, and we trade across all four.
